Dick was a character in The Famous Five. In an era "where famous authors' works [could] be changed for 'the good of the people' [and] where characters of dubious or colourful nature [could] be tippexed from existence", Noddy suspected the BBC's next move after the broadcast of New Adventures of Noddy would be to remove Dick from The Famous Five.
