The Dog Pirates were a renegade faction of Poodles that were "even worse than the usual sort". They allied with Anthony Marvelle as part of a scheme to get into the Obverse and steal its dark magic.
After the Begins at Home found the Objet D'Oom which Terrance had stolen from Hyspero, the Dog Pirates boarded the Begins at Home when it was orbiting Earth. Terrance retakes the Objet D'Oom, and the Dog Pirates brutally slaughter the Vatrexii crew.
