Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

In the real world, Dracula is Dead and Well and Living in London was a working title for the film eventually released as The Satanic Rites of Dracula in 1973. It featured Peter Cushing as Lorrimer Van Helsing, Christopher Lee as Dracula, and Joanna Lumley as Van Helsing's granddaughter, Jessica Van Helsing. The title was changed due to Lee's strenuous objections to the comical aspect of it, which he felt was at odds with the tone of the film, a "serious" horror thriller.
