Duchamp 331

Duchamp 331. (AUDIO: Dust Breeding)

Duchamp 331 was a planet used as a refuelling station off the major space lanes. Six huge fuel tanks lay floating beneath its surface, topped by six way-stations and a crew of around two hundred fifty people. No other human inhabitants lived on the planet, save for a community of fifty artists in a remote commune nicknamed "the Outhouse".

A crippled Dalek taskforce landed on Duchamp 331. Their saucer sank beneath the dust. Their dalekanium power source was still active, and was later used to fuel passing ships. (AUDIO: Dust Breeding)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

The planet's name is a reference to surrealist artist Marcel Duchamp, who was famous for a work consisting of an ordinary urinal placed on its side in a gallery. The artist colony "the Outhouse" may be indirectly referencing this, as an outhouse is a kind of toilet.
