Emily Beckett

You may be looking for the Chuldur.

Emily Beckett was a human in the Regency era who was murdered and impersonated by a black-feathered Chuldur, who took on her likeness. She was not of high status, compared to other guests at the Duchess of Pemberton's ball. According to her Chuldur counterpart, she wished for the chance to marry someone of note, and otherwise was resigned to marry anyone.

At least her Chuldur counterpart was approached by Lord Barton, or his counterpart, for sexual encounters outside of wedlock. The Fifteenth Doctor hypothesised that much of the drama at the party that evening was in fact the Chuldur cosplaying. (TV: Rogue ^[+]Loading...["Rogue (TV story)"])

Behind the scenes

Though Emily Beckett herself never appears in the story (so far as one can tell), her Chuldur counterpart was played by Camilla Aiko.
