The Third Doctor's assistant Jo Grant was trained in first aid, (TV: The Green Death) as was the Fifth Doctor's companion, air stewardess Tegan Jovanka. The Doctor noted that Tegan's skills would be of little use for treating a Trakenite, however. (AUDIO: Secrets of Telos)
