The Master was the Third Doctor's form master whilst he was studying at the Academy. On one occasion, the Master gave the Doctor lines to do which he still had not completed years later. After much speculation, the Doctor and the Master revealed the "secret" of their relationship to the masses although the Master thought that the nature of their connection was obvious.
