Fortnum and Mason (sometimes written as Fortnum & Mason) was a shop in London. In 1948, a six-year-old Polly Wright went there with her mother. The two were briefly separated. (PROSE: Invasion of the Cat-People) In 1966 Anne Caisson received a hamper from Fortnum and Mason for Christmas. It had sherry, stilton, crackers and mince pies.
