All of the links to the whoniverse.org Discontinuity Guide needs to be changed to whoniverse.net.

Can someone do this with a bot? --173.228.85.35 03:44, August 26, 2011 (UTC)

I hear my name being called. I'll look into it soon.

Most of the whoniverse links are run via the Template:Whoniverse ext link citation template, which has been changed over to whoniverse.net.
If there's any others around they just need to be shunted to the template or it's a cached version of the page.
The template itself was updated in May to the .net address. --Tangerineduel / talk 15:23, August 26, 2011 (UTC)
It looks like someone cleaned up some article ranges completely, but not others. I scraped the lists for NA, MA, PDA, NSA, Telos, and Series 1, and randomly grabbed 10 articles from each (except my script was stupid and only got 3 Telos and 4 Series 1 articles). All of the NA, MA, PDA, Telos, and Series 1 articles were correct, but for the EDAs I got 3 correct, 5 links to .org, and 2 articles with no link, and for the NSAs I got 1 correct, 9 links to .org. --173.228.85.35 03:14, August 27, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, to what lists and what scripts do you refer? I'm a lil busy, so could you please point me in the direction of specific pages that don't use the template so that I can develop and idea of what kind of bot run I need to perform? Thanks :) And if you know ranges that are completely done, could you please give me their category names so I know what to exclude? I'll happily do any kinda bot run, but I don't pay that much attention to the external links at the bottoms of pages. I don't even know what the "whoniverse.org" is, really, so I'm not sure what kinds of pages would be linked to it.

In order to do the bot run, I need the parent categories of whatever needs to be changed, as well as some page examples that demonstrate the problem.

By "lists" I mean the ones on articles like BBC Eighth Doctor Adventures. By "scripts" I mean little two-liner bash scripts that I wrote using curl, grep, and sed to scrape the lists from those articles, pull down random articles from each list and find links to "whoniverse"; they're not important.
The Whoniverse, formerly at whoniverse.org and now at whoniverse.net, is a site that tries to be a guide to everything Doctor Who. The relevant part of it is The Discontinuity Guide, an attempt to mirror the Cornell/Day/Topping book of the same name, but cover all the things they didn't (novels, the new series, etc.). Most articles here about things that have an entry in their Discontinuity Guide have a link to that entry (and the rest presumably should). If you follow the link above, you can see the ranges that they cover.
There's a template to create that link, which should be used in every case, but sometimes isn't. An example of an article that does use the template is Alien Bodies. An example of one that doesn't is Kursaal (novel).
I don't know for sure that any categories are completely correct (although I could write a script to find out, if necessary), just that for some categories (NA, MA, PDA, Telos, and Series 1) all of the samples I happened to pull were correct.
I hope that answers all of your questions. --173.228.85.35 16:48, August 29, 2011 (UTC)
To save CzechOut from running the bot through all these things, I'll fix it.
Most of the articles that you'd have found haven't because I'm often the one who does it, and I do it when I've editing other elements of the article.
So, patience and it'll be fixed, give me...a few weeks and it'll all be fixed up. --Tangerineduel / talk 17:10, August 29, 2011 (UTC)
That took less time than I thought it would.
All of them should be changed over now.
There are some pages that don't have the Whoniverse link, but they'll need to be added manually, they've never had the link. (I haven't removed anything, just not added anything either.). --Tangerineduel / talk 18:10, August 29, 2011 (UTC)
Great! Who needs a bot when Tangerineduel can do it faster and easier! :) --173.228.85.35 03:22, August 30, 2011 (UTC)
It's how I used to get things done before there were people to wrangle the bots. --Tangerineduel / talk 07:56, August 30, 2011 (UTC)
