Opening postedit source

Hi, I would like to start helping for the wiki, and yet, it is quite difficult to know what are the best practice for each type of articles or even what on the wiki is considered of good quality (ex: Dwarf Fortress wiki have a community rating of the quality of each articles). Is there any articles on here that are known to be the best the platform can offer? Vernillet 22:19, 3 March 2024 (UTC)

Ah, I figured someone else would like to take this, so I just put in the headers. What do you think you're most knowledgable about with Doctor Who? Do you have experience with the audios, the books, the comics? Do you know about production/BTS stuff? Can you write plot summaries? If you're a TV only fan that's perfectly fine too! I can think of a few areas where our TV articles need work. What do you feel comfortable with - then I can point to examples where I think we have good articles to emulate. I've watched the new show more time than I would like to admit, currently working my way on the classics, reading the novelisation of these episodes too. Got an archive book from the moffat era with behind the scene and anecdotes from all over the show history, and also the Whoniverse guide also of the Moffat era. Also played Destiny of the Doctors to read the internal encyclopedia. (PS: English is not my language of origin, but I try to do my best with correctors and AI when working on project like this. And when I say AI, it is only for correction and better comprehension of text I already written, no untrustly generated content.) Vernillet 07:59, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
As I slight aside, I absolutely agree with OP that this site should have some sort of article review board / guildelines on the roadmap somewhere for good/great/featured pages. Guyus24 08:02, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
Well, I'm sure the pages for various episodes' novelizations can use a check if you feel like doing that as you're reading each one. I'd recommend The Day of the Doctor (novelisation) as a reference, imo, but other people might have their own suggestions. I'd also comment that for a lot of our TV episode pages the notes/worldbuilding/continuity sections can be a bit messy and could use tidying up. But that's a controversial subject. Oh, also, if you see stuff in the code, if you're using source editor, like (PROSE: Story Title (novelisation)) or (TV: Story Title (TV story)), change it to (WHATEVER: Story Title (whatever)). Just roll with it. Najawin 11:28, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
I have previously created User:Epsilon/Short story as a template for how to format source articles. Obviously it doesn't fit every case perfectly so it often needs adapting, but I often use it to copy and paste to get a "base" article before revising and filling in with the relevant information. 12:31, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
Thanks everyone, I will try to find some media I can work on, maybe trying to work on the Novelisations. Vernillet 21:09, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
