Front Line was a Brief Encounter short story published in DWM 208.

Summary[[edit] | edit source]

The Seventh Doctor meets a private in the trenches during World War I and gives him a bar of chocolate, which the private gratefully accepts. The Doctor then offers the private the chance to travel with him. However, the private declines, as he believes it would be desertion. Unbeknownst to the private, the Germans are about to advance on his position.
