Gabriel (mythology)

Gabriel was an angel who resided in Heaven.

Gabriel held the title of archangel, and was held by the 20th century vampire Joanna Harris to be nothing but a mythical figure, on par with Osiris. Harris, who did not give much credit to her people's old legends about the Time Lords of Gallifrey, compared the Eighth Doctor's claims to be a Time Lord to pretending he was the archangel Gabriel; the Doctor's answer cryptically hinted that he and Gabriel were indeed one and the same, though it was human eyewitness James Court's uncertain opinion that this was a lie.
