The Galathos were a primitive cave-dwelling race that lived in the jungles. They had a strong sense of community and kept the Palanth as pets.
They were ailed by the sickwind, an infection that came every year and left many dead. They believed it was a curse from the gods and the blood of the Dramos would cure them. After the Tenth Doctor's intervention it became clear that the Dramos held the cure, not in the blood but in their tears, tears that easily flowed on understanding the Galathos' loss and pain.
