George Gardner

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

George Gardner was an employee of Condef, a British defence contractor. He discovered the purpose for a break-in of the company was not to steal anything, but to install Silver Bullet System microchips. The Fourth Doctor told him to contact Harry Sullivan at MI5 to report the information. He succeeded in alerting Sullivan and aiding his investigation, getting him into a tech conference where Silver Bullet presented its services.

George's private investigation of the microchips led Silver Bullet (under the control of the Voracians) to attempt to kill him by overloading his home appliances. Escaping his house and surviving, he warned Sullivan before retreating to a bunker he had purchased to hide and survive through the chaos the Y2K bug would cause. The Doctor would later arrive inside his bunker (to his astonishment, as he was unware of the Doctor's TARDIS), and consult with him on the nature of the Silver Bullet's chips, as well as informing him of the Voracians' true nature. George would continue researching the chip's functions and ultimately help the Doctor in cracking and altering its code, assisting in his final defeat of the Voracians' plans.

Following the end of the Y2K and Voracian crisis, George reunited with Sullivan at a pub, celebrating the world not coming to an end, and discussing if they would ever see the Doctor again. (PROSE: Millennium Shock)
