Goodge Street Fortress was constructed near Goodge Street tube station during the Second World War as a secret headquarters for the British government. It was reactivated as the base for the Special Unit tasked to stop the Yeti. Modern scientific and communications equipment were brought into the Fortress. (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Web of Fear)
