A Grade 1 encounter was a term used by Anglican Marines to refer to a serious encounter on the battlefield.
The Anglican Marine Patrol B group had a Grade 1 encounter on 5 October 5087, after which only two survived: John Francis Vater and Carson. Vater had sustained injuries as a result of this encounter, leaving him temporarily blinded. Carson communicated back to base that they were returning as a result.
