Grammar school

A grammar school was a type of secondary school in the United Kingdom in the 20th century. Grammar schools, as opposed to secondary modern schools, were segregated by gender, and uniforms were required. Students were referred to by their surnames, and science was taught in three separate courses: chemistry, physics and biology.
