"Happy times and places" was a sign-off often used by the Fourth Doctor in his letters, particularly to his readers in Doctor Who Magazine. (PROSE: A Letter from the Doctor, Scratchman, et al.) It was also used occasionally by the Seventh (PROSE: A Letter from the Doctor) and Tenth Doctors, (PROSE: A Letter from the Doctor) and in all of the letters the Twelfth Doctor wrote to Doctor Who Adventures. The Master once signed off a letter with "unhappy times and places". (PROSE: A letter from the Master)
The painting Azure in the Rain by a Man Who'd Never Been There, a collaboration between the Fourth Doctor and Jackson Pollock, was signed "Hey Doc, Happy times and places, J". (PROSE: Divided Loyalties)
