Heath Porteous was a noted 20th century Earth seismologist. Julia Orlostro kidnapped him for Hepworth Stackhouse, who had been possessed by Zodaal. He was forced to program a seismic stimulator so it would destroy the planet. The Fourth Doctor managed to rewire it so it exploded instead.
