From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Since about 2012, Tardis Wiki has displayed maps on some pages using the Maps for MediaWiki extension, with OpenStreetMap as a source. See the extension's own tutorial for displaying maps for a detailed guide.
On this wiki, the maps are primarily used:
- in the {{map}} template, for displaying conjectural placements of in-universe locations in "Behind the scenes" sections, like at Roswell (see the template's page for more specific documentation);
- for displaying the sites of various events and exhibitions, for example, the location of the World Museum;
- for displaying location filming sites, as at The Power of the Doctor (TV story)#Filming locations.
