So, the Silence tell Amy to "tell the Doctor what he must know and what he must never know." What is it referring to? Apparently that she's pregnant, but why would she want to tell him so bad? Why was it so extremely important? And what must he never know? That he's going to die? Why would they want the Doctor to know that he's going to die? Is there any possibility that the Silence are being told what to do (by He-who-has-killed-Time-Lords?) and they're actually trying to help the Doctor? Hence why they're keeping Mrs. Time Lady Girl safe and why they don't react at ALL when the Doctor shows up to free Amy until he reveals that he's killing off their entire race. I suspect that they were escaping to the moon (and they did successfully) because they knew they would be wiped out (Hence "Silence will Fall," 'fall' meaning be defeated. I mean, come on, since when does 'fall' mean take over?) and they're trying to warn the Doctor, or something. Thoughts welcome... Kayjeth 03:51, May 2, 2011 (UTC)

"Silence will fall" doesn't necessarily mean that the Silence will fall. It could mean that literal silence will fall, as in all will become silent, when the Silence take over. The Silence seem to be malevolent, as they told Canton that they had taken over the Earth and that humans should kill them all on sight, they killed Joy, and they kidnapped Amy. There may be other races or villains involved, such as the Time Lord killer, but the Silence are clearly not good guys.Icecreamdif 04:02, May 2, 2011 (UTC)

Also, it's possible that when the silence told amy that she has to "tell the Doctor what he must know and what he must never know" that he was talking about one thing, amy's pregnancy, not two. Otherwise, Amy would have already told the doctor that hes going to die because the silence "suggested" it. Therefore, the question becomes why must the doctor know/not know about her pregnancy? psychdoc

Maybe he both must and must not know about the pregnancy for the same reason that the pregnancy is positive/negative according to the screen in the TARDIS that the Doctor points at Amy. The entire pregnancy is clearly very strange, and probably one of if not the main story arc of this season. And so far it looks like it both does and does not exist. You know, just a touch of the Schrödinger's pregnancy...

As long as she doesn't give birth to a cat, as in Gridlock. 2.96.18.149 18:07, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

I've been assuming the Silence was referring to the Doctor's impending death, but, as pointed out above, the Silence seem to have excellent powers of suggestion - and Amy told him (compulsively) that she was pregnant instead.

By the way, who else wears a suit, wants to take over the earth, would have a DIY TARDIS, and has perfect powers of suggestion? Anyone? Anyone? Agonaga 19:21, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

Has the Master ever met the headless monks? Could be interesting....
Anyway, in The Almost People, the Doctor (intentionally or accidentally?) tricked Amy into telling him about his death. Did the Silence want that to happen, want it not to happen, or not care? And as for the pregnancy, the Doctor apparently worked that out a few weeks earlier; again, did the Silence want him to know then, earlier, or not at all? Episode 7 really didn't clear this up at all. Maybe the Silence are fighting the Clerics, and were hoping to get the Doctor to do it for them, or maybe they're on the same side as the Clerics, and were setting him up for the trap, or maybe they're completely unrelated to the events on Demons Run; we still don't know enough to interpret that line.... --99.8.228.227 02:44, June 5, 2011 (UTC)
Agreed on all points, 99.8. I find it odd that the Silence seem to have edited themselves out of every episode after DotM. (See what I did there.) On the other hand, signals being shot with 100% reliability into the TARDIS... that's likely enough to scare the Doctor; having the signal be a Flesh control link to Amy, that's enough to scare him into allowing it without resistance. (And, perhaps unintentionally, a signal strong enough to control Amy while she's in a bottle universe! But TDW was written for Season 5.) Any case - we now have two major factions for the Doctor to worry about, both seeming to beg a hidden puppetmaster (neither the Silence nor the Monks seem competent on their own, in my mind), both definitely begging further development and exposition.
