Well, that is what some people are begining to think now. Something has altered the timeline, creating a new timeline where series 5 now takes place on. Things fueling these theroies are mentions of cracks in the universe, things falling apart, The Eleventh Hour being mainly in the early 90s (possibly 1990) and having technology (modern laptop, webcams, Bebo, Facebook, Twitter, slim coloured screen mobile phones with video and picture settings, and other things), and the Daleks appearing in 1941 - there are theories that this 'revelation' will be that this is a new, altered timeline.

Amy Pond apparantly has absolutely no idea what the Daleks are, has never even heard of them or seen them. - this fuels theories that the timeline has been altered again, that there is no longer any Doomsday, The Stolen Earth/Journey's End, or the series 3 Dalek two-parter, changing history and earsing everything we have seen.

Some also believe that, with things changed, technology has advamced very fast - technology of eras such as 2007 through 2010 existing in 1990, explaining the apparantly error in The Eleventh Hour. I tried to fight against the theroy, but lots of people are sure that there has been a big timeline reset involving the cracks, and the Daleks, and everything. It would more mean this timeline in series 5 is sepperate from the one previous. With these new Daleks, at the smallest level, some people are inclined the believe the events of The Stolen Earth/Journey's End have been canceled out, or everything. Ect.. Heck, they went out of their way to clearly show Rory's ID badge, like they wanted us to see the date. Delton Menace 17:18, April 4, 2010 (UTC)

Seems possible, we should keep this in the wings as a retcon. However, i think the general idea is that the Doc meets Amy in 1995/96, the main bulk in 2008, and the Doctor picking up Amy in 2010.Excalibur-117 17:26, April 4, 2010 (UTC)

That seems to be the idea, but the camera does seem to zoom on and very clearly show the date on Rory's ID, like we're supposed to see it. Like, the date was very intentional. Othe theories suggested time and space has been put out of sync, that what should be 2008 has been pushed back in 1990, ect.. Like something is messing with the timeline. I was reading the review on DenofGeek, and apparently all the tech in the episode had the same manufacturer label: "Myth," or something like that. Maybe that's significant too? Maybe they misread "Magpie" as "myth"? 207.121.66.26 22:46, April 4, 2010 (UTC)

Just saying, a line from Vincent and the Doctor says that the end of this story takes place in 2010. This means that the bulk of the story occurs in 2008 and the start in 1996. I'm A Hydroponic Tomato! Bigredrabbit (talk to me) 22:55, April 4, 2010 (UTC)
