Howling:Torchwood series 4

I was wondering about torchwood series 4. Its definetly on then. I read ages ago that it was on but then it said it wasn't. Now it does appear to be confirmed, so it definetly is. I felt sure that it was done, basically because, John Barrowman is off in the USA starring in desperate housewives and [rumored] Glee. Plus Freema Agyeman is off in Law and Order UK, and Noel clarke is a bigshot film director now, most of the rest are all dead, [characters LOL]. I also assumed that with a new doctor new companions set up, they wouldn't want such a large thing from the RTD era hanging over their heads. Sarah Jane adventures isn't quite the same. So its definetly on then there will be a series 4 then, its not still just in talks. Winehousefan: 19:25, june 8, 2010 [UTC]
- Yes. RTD had been discussing it with fox, and had it all planned out with them, but then they didn't want to do it, but were kind enough to allow another channel to pick it up. So it will be going ahead with two new additions to Gwen and Jack, plus it will be set in multiple places around the world, not just America and the UK. --The Thirteenth Doctor 18:31, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
Right thanks that sounds great a worldwide epic plus a new cast. RTD better not kill off anyone else though at least not for a few seasons. Just as well Martha'a probably not in it RTD would probably kill her off too. Winehousefan: 19:40, June 8, 2010 [UTC]
- The only thing I don't think I'll like is the fact America will get it before us, and may not be shown on our screens for months... hopefully not though. --The Thirteenth Doctor 18:48, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
They will get it before us, I didn't know that, Torchwood has really caught on over there then. I wonder if we will get more well known american actors in torchwood, like James Marsters, he was good but he did kinda play spike again. John Barrowman is in desperate housewives and might be in Glee so maybe he will get some of his co-stars from them to be in Torchwood series 4. Winehousefan: 20:15, June 8, 2010 [UTC]
- I'm sure the same sources Americans use to watch Doctor Who without waiting will allow Brits to watch Torchwood... but since those sources are of questionable legality, it's best not to speculate on that here.
- Anyway, I don't think it's that Torchwood is more popular in the US than in the UK; it's just that the US is a much bigger market. With about 5x the people, a show with half the ratings share still reaches 2.5x as many viewers. And with the recent explosion in cable networks creating original programming, there's actually a lot more freedom to put on shows without the ratings expectations that the major networks have traditionally had.
- By the way, I heard (from someone in the biz) that Starz really wanted the show to shoot in Vancouver (it's cheaper, and it's easier to turn parts of Vancouver and the surrounding areas into other places), but it had to be shot in LA because Barrowman is too busy in LA and London with both shooting and recording music to be based anywhere but one of those two cities. What else is he working on next year? (I know Desperate Housewives and Glee are both shot in LA.) --Falcotron 00:45, June 9, 2010 (UTC)
Does anyone have any info on these new characters . I would liked to have seen Alonzo Frame Martha and Mickey appear as the new team but that obviously was not gonna happen, just as well as they would probably have been kileed off. I read one of these new characters is meant to be a child abuser that can't be right again anyone has any info tell me please I'm impatient, I cant wait till 2011.
