Hyper-evolution genes were artificial genes which greatly increased the speed of evolution in any species which had them.
They were used by Dollar Intergalactic during their terraforming of Isen VI to rapidly generate new species of flora and fauna. One such species was the skunkey, a primate which Clara Oswald named due to its similarities to both skunks and monkeys. (COMIC: Terrorformer)
