Intern (The Hand of Fear)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

An unnamed intern was a medical doctor at the British hospital where Sarah Jane Smith was admitted in the 1970s after she sustained injuries at a nearby quarry.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

The intern was likely Sarah's attending physician.

He also performed a cursory examination of the Fourth Doctor, but did not discover that the Doctor had a binary vascular system. Instead, his superficial observation merely revealed that the Doctor had a pain in his right forearm before the Doctor abruptly ended the examination.

When the Doctor asked intelligent questions about Sarah's condition, the intern asked where the Doctor had completed his medical training. When the Doctor answered, "Gallifrey", the intern assumed that it was a place in Ireland.

Dr. Carter, whom the intern knew at least by name, worked at the same hospital's pathology laboratory. (TV: The Hand of Fear)
