An ionic vibrator was a communications device. One was created on Earth by Professor Mirko Vetich and another was owned by the Master. Due to an accident, Vetich's machine allowed Mrs Prentice to hear Zex from the fourth paraleptic level of the galaxy. (PROSE: Listen - The Stars)
