Jan Vincent-Rudzki was a founder of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society and acted as its president for several years. He contributed a story to Drabble Who, and was interviewed about the history of Doctor Who fandom in Licence Denied‎ and The Matrix Revisited.

One point of note to some members of the fan community, particularly in retrospect, is that of Vincent-Rudski's scathing review of The Deadly Assassin after it aired. As well as taking issue with how the Time Lords were portrayed, he also took much larger issue with the production run of Philip Hinchcliffe and Robert Holmes. It concluded with the line: "What has happened to the magic of Doctor Who?".[1] It has since been used as a primary example of extreme fan reaction and entitlement.[2]
