Jason was a university student. He was part of the Sports Science department.
One day in 1978, he and seven other students were exploring a cave. They found a Cnidarian artefact that absorbed their life forces. When they returned to the university with the artefact, they were placed in the medical wing, suffering from exhaustion.
When Mel and Ly brought Dr Leech to the medical wing, they saw that Jason and the other students were growing tentacles. One of the students, Laura Ainsell, begged that they be put in water.
Jason and the other students were cured by receiving saline drips. (PROSE: The Invertebrates of Doom)
