Jean was Brenda Williams's sister. She did not like Otis Redding, which made Brenda make a point of listening to him, and collected china animals. She gave a china sheep to Brenda, who put it on display despite not liking it.
Brenda told Sonny that she cried the last time that she listened to Otis Redding because it made her think of Jean and how much she missed her. At the time, she was reflecting on death. She also told him that she wanted to smash the china sheep. (AUDIO: Sonny)
