Jessie was a member of Professor Clifford Jones's Wholeweal community at Llanfairfach, Wales. She also played the flute.

Jones called Jessie "one of the finest mathematicians in the country". In the 1970s, she was studying the probability factors in a projected future ecology. (TV: The Green Death)
