A jimmy jib operator is a role in the camera crew, comparable to a polecam operator. They hold, control or operate a jib, a type of crane with a camera at the end, similar in design to a boom microphone. Jibs are generally used for getting high shots, especially those necessitating camera movement.
Arun Taylor worked as a jimmy jib operator on TV: Time Crash, and operated the equipment during the medium high-angle shot in the TARDIS set which pans down to low-angle, just before the Tenth Doctor stabilises the TARDIS and the Fifth Doctor arrives.
