John was Patricia's husband. They married in 1997. Every year, they took a two week holiday to go hiking in Dartmoor.
In 2002, while walking towards Grimpen Tor, John and Patricia accidentally wandered near the main entrance to the Forge Alpha Facility. Shortly after realising their mistake, the couple were approached by Forge soldiers. Cassandra Schofield began running towards them, scaring Patricia. After Patricia tried to run away, she was killed by Schoefield. The Forge drugged John and released him a few days later, leaving him thinking that he went insane and killed his wife.
