John was a thin, scruffy, yellow man who looked dashing from a distance, but had faintly yellow teeth on account of his smoking. Although he appeared to be in his mid-thirties, he had a "lived-in" body which, whilst humanoid, was definitely not human. There was something spider-like about him.
