Josephine (A Matter of Life and Death)
Josephine was a lady.
Wealthy and bored, she commissioned many portraits and sculptures of herself but felt that none truly captured the essence of her beauty. Eventually she commissioned an Artificer of Wrall to create a portrait using animae particles that his order used to animate their holy texts.
The portrait was so rich with animae particles that it took on its own semblance of life. Lady Josephine immediately had the portrait locked away, afraid that others would compare it to her and find it the more beautiful. Her jealousy of the image grew when she was stricken with a wasting disease while the portrait remained pure. Over time the portrait developed her own personality and sentience, eventually taking the alias Josie Day.
When Lady Josephine died, the portrait was sold at auction. The Twelfth Doctor bought the living portrait and took it to his house in Wales in the 21st century, where he knew Josie would meet his previous self, believing that the younger Doctor would be better suited to help Josie than he would in his current persona.
Josephine was resurrected into a synth body by the Bakri Resurrection Barge and met Josie again alongside the Doctor. As the synthetic bodies had begun to develop a will of their own she planned to kill Josie, and transfer her consciousness to Josie's animae based form. However, at the Doctor's urging the synth body took over and stopped the attempt.
Along with the other resurectees, Josephine's mind was uploaded to an artificial reality in the Doctor's TARDIS databanks; Allowing both they and the synthetic life forms to continue to exist. (COMIC: A Matter of Life and Death)
