Kakapo

The kakapo was a type of bird found on Earth. It was worth 900 points in the I-Spyder Book of Earth Creatures if it was spotted. The last known kakapo supposedly died in 2017, but actually became part of the collection at the Museum of the Last Ones. (PROSE: The Last Dodo)

In the real world, kākāpō, which are endemic to New Zealand, did not go extinct in 2017. As of 2024[update], the known population of the bird consists of 244 individuals.
