Sometime before AF 37, Merla Gupta worked for Kane News in the Indo Districts, once witnessing a KaneNet reporter having trouble describing the largest Jainist temple in the City.

PROSE: Of the City of the Saved... establishes that a Remake of Charles Foster Kane is a prominent politician in Teletopia District. In the film Citizen Kane, Kane runs a newspaper which focuses on scandals and disregards the truth. The connection between KaneNet and Citizen Kane is hinted at in PROSE: The Socratic Problem when the Director of Studies refers to "the good Citizens of Kane News".
