KaneNet, or Kane News, was a major news broadcasting company in the City of the Saved which was known to focus on scandals and have little care for facts. Sometime before AF 37, Merla Gupta worked for Kane News in the Indo Districts, once witnessing a KaneNet reporter having trouble describing the largest Jainist temple in the City.

PROSE: Of the City of the Saved... establishes that a Remake of Charles Foster Kane is a prominent politician in Teletopia District. In the film Citizen Kane, Kane runs a newspaper which focuses on scandals and disregards the truth. The connection between KaneNet and Citizen Kane is hinted at in PROSE: The Socratic Problem when the Director of Studies refers to "the good Citizens of Kane News".
