In the late 2040s, Agent Twenty One of the Universal Secret Service discovered a plot by Bereznik agents to kill both the World President and the Astran Kaplan upon the completion of the Andromeda Project on Astra. The Kaplan and Bandranaik eventually visited the site and were given a guided tour by Kapt Klogan but Twenty One was able to both uncover and arrest the Bereznik spy Debbie Latimer to ensure the event proceeded as planned. On the brink of war in 2065, the Kaplan reprimanded his second-in-command the Kaplan Minus for mistreating a peace emissary after the Minus almost disintegrated Steve Zodiac, refusing to listen to the Minus's protests that Zodiac may be an assassin or otherwise dangerous. After Zodiac explained his mission to him, the Kaplan agreed to come to Earth to discuss the terms of, and ultimately sign, a peace treaty with the President of Earth.
