Johannas Karilee was a Nooman male. He was conducting experiments with heartmeat to artificially induce Promotion so that killing would no longer be necessary to achieve it. The naieen told him they would help, but only so he would tell them what Epreto was doing.
When he found how Omonu killed Mike Yates in a cowardly way so he could be Promoted, Karilee shot him. He found out Epreto's plans to destroy the Sky, but before he could do anything to stop them, Epreto's guards killed him. (PROSE: Speed of Flight)
