Nooma was an artificial planet created by the Aapex Corporation as an experiment in improving the bioengineering and terraforming of low-gravity planets. Not long afterwards, Aapex went bankrupt, but the experiment continued to run unsupervised. By the time the Third Doctor and his companions visited Nooma, the experiment had been running for four thousand years. (PROSE: Speed of Flight)
