Kenneth Smith was a reporter for the Diensberg Chronicle during at least the latter stages of the American Civil War in 1865. He reported on Abraham Lincoln's triumphant entry into Richmond, Virginia aboard the Malvern, and also took notes on Private Aaron Eddowes initial imprisonment for his failed assassination attempt on Lincoln.
