Kesh

Kesh

Kesh was the practice in Sikhism to let one's hair grow out, to have long hair and a beard. (TV: Brave-ish Heart)

Ram Singh's father Varun did not like that his son didn't practise it. Ram felt that in "modern times", he had to look "sharp", and so chose to keep his hair short. (TV: Brave-ish Heart) Varun himself did grow out his hair, and donned a turban and a beard. (TV: For Tonight We Might Die, The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo, et al.) Ram appreciated that Varun followed the tradition, as he felt it reminded him of where he came from. (TV: Brave-ish Heart)
