Keystone Kops (series)
Keystone Kops is a multimedia series consisting primarily of a series of silent film slapstick comedies produced by Mack Sennett for his Keystone Film Company between 1912 and 1917. It also gained various appearances in other media, including a series of character appearances within comics published in TV Comic.
The series principally stars the titular Keystone Kops, or Keystone Cops, a group of incompetent policemen.
Crossovers[[edit] | [edit source]]
The series had some crossovers with the Doctor Who universe within the pages of TV Comic's various annuals.
The first of these occurred within the game TV Comic's Counter Game [+]Loading...["TV Comic's Counter Game (1967 game)"], published within the TV Comic Holiday Special 1967, which featured the Keystone Kops as the main characters, alongside the Doctor's TARDIS and some Daleks, featuring explicit interaction between elements of both series.
The following year, TV Comic's Counter Game [+]Loading...["TV Comic's Counter Game (1968 game)"] was published within the TV Comic Holiday Special 1968. The game featured elements of the various series featured in the annual, including both Doctor Who and Keystone Kops. Early in the game, the Diddymen (the main characters of the game, from Diddymen) may stop to listen to Dr. Who playing his recorder. Later in the game, it is possible for them to be arrested by the Keystone Kops.
Next, in the TV Comic Holiday Special 1969, the game Basil Brush goes Rent Collecting [+]Loading...["Basil Brush goes Rent Collecting (game)"] was released, which had a similar conceit. Midway through the game, it is possible for Basil Brush (the main character of the game, from Basil Brush) to collect £10 rent from the Keystone Kops. A little further along the board, Basil may be arrested by the Keystone Kops, being placed in Keystone Jail. Later in the course, he may encounter "Tardis", requiring him to travel a few spaces back along the board.
Finally, in the TV Comic Holiday Special 1970, the game TV Terrors Autograph Hunt [+]Loading...["TV Terrors Autograph Hunt (game)"] was released, featuring both the Third Doctor and the Keystone Kops.
