Krista Lateef told Jackie Tyler that her daughter was one of the many Londoners of Pete's World who were mind controlled by their EarPods and converted into Cybermen. Krista's daughter subsequently died, severely impacting her mother, who stated this was the event that inspired her to join Torchwood. Krista attempted to force the Meta-Crisis Doctor to save her daughter after discovering the Doctor was growing a TARDIS, but was unsuccessful.
