Léontif

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Léontif was the war-horse of the Knight Templar Henri d'Arrée during the reign of King Richard I of England. D'Arrée was extremely attached to his horse, considering him "the finest horse a knight ever has".

D'Arrée had brought Léontif to the castle of Earl Godfrey, an old friend he was visiting, when the castle became besieged by Krynoids. During the Knights Templar's first engagement with the first of the two Krynoids which attacked the castle and village in succession, D'Arrée was thrown off Léontif, who bolted into the forest. Some time later, after that Krynoid had been defeated, D'Arrée headed into the forest on foot to find Léontif again, alongside his fellow Templar Moses of Tyre, who was looking for his own horse. They found their two steeds under attack by the second Krynoid; while Moses managed to recover his own horse, it was too late for Léontif, who was absorbed by the Krynoid before a helpless D'Arrée. This spurred D'Arrée to vow personal vengeance upon the Krynoid in question, above and beyond his existing hostility to the monsters. (AUDIO: The Green Man)
