Lieutenant (The Bitter Cold Dish)

A Bereznik lieutenant arrested former Agent Twenty One of the Universal Secret Service when he surrendered himself after crossing the border in a stolen helijet owned by the German police in the late 2040s.

The lieutenant and his troops were ordered to search the crash site from when the helijet was shot down though doubted anyone could have survived. In response to Twenty One giving himself up, the lieutenant asked him if he knew the penalty for illegal entry was death but when he revealed his identity, the lieutenant immediately ordered his arrest, predicting a promotion to major for his efforts. After the truck carrying the unit reached Katania and the headquarters of the Bereznik Secret Police, one of its agents took over custody of Twenty One and told the lieutenant that he could return to his army camp.
