The mother of Lulubelle gave her up as, according to Ruth Lyons, she couldn't cope with a child, as well as her family being "too complicated for words". However, Ruth was hopeful that they could get her to start bonding with Lulubelle after a few days away, during which she was looked after by foster mother Carla Sunday.
