Synopsis[[edit] | [edit source]]
(This synopsis is taken from the 1986 VHS edition)
Shot in Liverpool at Monstercon, this edition of Myth Makers stars Deborah Watling — better known to ‘Doctor Who’ fans as Victoria Waterfield.
Intrepid presenter Nicholas Briggs follows Deborah’s hectic and sometimes hilarious day of on-stage interviews and autograph sessions at this memorable convention.
The pace is fast and furious, but Deborah also finds time to reflect upon her life and career, both in and out of ‘Doctor Who’.
(This synopsis is taken from the 1995 VHS edition)
“Derek! He can’t say, ‘Up your passage Miss Waterfield.’ It’s rude!"
Deborah Watling portrayed Victoria Waterfield during Patrick Troughton’s tenure as Doctor Who. Famous for the practical jokes that went on behind the camera, this era produced some classic Doctor Who stories and Victoria became one of the most popular of the Doctor’s companions.
This Myth Makers features material shot at Monstercon in Liverpool ten years ago, together with an interview recorded on location during the shooting of Downtime, the Doctor Who spin-off drama in which Deborah re-creates the part of Victoria after more than twenty five years!
Deborah and her father Jack Watling (Professor Travers) chat to Nicholas Briggs about working together again and we feature behind the scenes material from Downtime.
And of course there’s the odd Yeti around!
