MacTaggart was one of the human colonists of Trodos, who gained infamy for inventing the Trods, who soon came to be feared across the galaxy.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

MacTaggart was born on Trodos, among other humans. However, he grew envious of the other people on the planet and longed for power, inspiring him to build a race of robots known as the Trods. However, they eventually turned against him and shot him. After the First Doctor, John, and Gillian deactivated the Trods in 2066, they discovered the fatally injured MacTaggart. MacTagart reflected on his life to the Doctor:

My name is MacTaggart and I am one of the people of this planet. I envied others here on Trodos and always longed for power myself, so I invented the robots in order to get my own back. Now even the robots have turned against me and I have been shot by my own Trods. There's no home for me now, I... I'm... F.I.I..S..H...E...D...!MacTaggart [The Trodos Tyranny (comic story) [src]]

MacTaggart then died in front of the time travelers. (COMIC: The Trodos Tyranny)

The Doctor and his family would encounter the Trods again, discovering that they had survived beyond Trodos. (COMIC: Return of the Trods) Centuries later, a Trod's shell would be held inside a Time Museum, described as a "Space warmongers for generations." (COMIC: The Time Museum)
