On 20 May, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1966 - Episode two of The Savages was recorded at Riverside Studios 1. (TCH 8)
- 1967 - Episode two of The Evil of the Daleks was recorded at Lime Grove Studios D. (TCH 10)
- 1975 - Studio filming for Pyramids of Mars took place at BBC Television Centre 3. (REF: Doctor Who The Handbook: The Fourth Doctor)
- 1981 - Studio filming for The Visitation took place at BBC Television Centre studio 3. (REF: Doctor Who The Handbook: The Fifth Doctor)
- 1990 - Filming for Search Out Space took place at BBC Model Stage. (Doctor Who The Handbook: The Seventh Doctor)
- 2008 - It was announced Russell T Davies would step down as head writer and executive producer of Doctor Who; Steven Moffat would replace him.
- 2009 - David Tennant filmed his final regular-series scenes as the Tenth Doctor for The End of Time, Part Two. Tennant's final scene was a green-screen action shot of him falling through a glass ceiling (the regeneration having been shot earlier). Afterwards, he was called back on set for an emotional celebration.
- 2010 - The Big Finish audio story The Invasion of E-Space took place at the Moat Studios.
- 2012 - Big Finish's Bernice Summerfield audio anthology New Frontiers took place at the Moat Studios.
- 2013 - The Big Finish audio story Trial of the Valeyard took place at the Moat Studios.
- 2014 - The Big Finish audio story The Trouble with Drax was recorded.
- 2019 - Big Finish's The Paternoster Gang audio anthology Heritage 2 took place at the Soundhouse.
- 2020 - Doctor Who: Lockdown! hosted a tweetalong of Listen.
- 2021 - Big Finish's The Doctor Chronicles audio anthology Timejacked! was recorded at the Soundhouse.
- 2022 - Big Finish's Torchwood audio story Torchwood: SUV was recorded at the Soundhouse.
