On 9 May, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1972 - Studio filming for The Time Monster took place at BBC Television Centre studio 4. (REF: Doctor Who The Handbook: The Third Doctor)
- 1973 - Location filming for The Time Warrior took place. (REF: Doctor Who The Handbook: The Third Doctor)
- 1986 - The UK press launch for the Doctor Who USA Tour took place. Following the press launch, the truck was loaded onto a ship bound for the United States. It arrived later on in May, was given a US press launch, and then effectively opened for business.
- 2008 - Big Finish's audio anthology Kingdom of Silver was recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2012 - The Big Finish audio story Night of the Stormcrow was recorded at Audio Sorcery.
- 2013 - Big Finish's audio releases Masquerade and the fourth series of Iris Wildthyme were recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2018 - Big Finish's audio anthology Class: The Audio Adventures: Volume One was recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2019 - Big Finish's audio adaptation of the unproduced TV story The Ultimate Evil was recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2022 - The Big Finish audio story Kaleidoscope was recorded.
